    Rooms and suites allow for double occupancy as a standard and can accommodate a maximum three adults (18 and older) or two adults and two children (17 and younger) per room.

    Family-Friendly Rooms

    There is no additional charge for children 17 and younger when staying in the same room with the parent and utilizing existing bedding.

    Third adult (18 and older) person charge is an additional $100.00 daily plus taxes.
    Extra bed charge for children is an additional $85.00 daily plus tax, maximum one per room.

    Maximum Occupancy & Check in

    Rooms and suites allow for double occupancy as a standard and can accommodate a maximum three adults (18 and older) or two adults and two children (17 and younger) per room. All guests must be 18 and older to confirm room or suite accommodations. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of check in for age verification.

    3rd adult charge is an additional cost of $100 daily plus taxes and $85 daily per rollaway bed plus taxes. Two bedroom suites can accommodate 6 adults or 4 adults and 4 children.

    Children (17 and younger) are free if using existing bedding. Extra bed charge for children is an additional $85.00 daily plus tax, maximum one per room. Cribs are complimentary.

    Two rooms requiring connecting doors must be confirmed in advance by calling The Kahala Hotel & Resort Reservations directly, a $250.00 plus tax one time charge will be applied to guarantee the rooms. All room location and bed type requests are subject to availability.

    Check-out time: 12:00 noon

    Early/late check in/out

    Immediate access to your accommodation on arrival can be guaranteed by booking the room for the night before. For late departures, reserving an additional night will guarantee your accommodation until you depart. We are also happy to offer our superb Hospitality Suite and luggage storage arrangements.

    Overnight parking is $50 per night
    Dog program available for $150, dogs must be under 25lbs. Sample dog waiver form required at check in (pdf).

    Resort Credit

    Resort Credit is can be used for anything on property that is owned and operated by The Kahala Hotel & Resort. The resort credit is not valid at the following outlets:

    • Arancino’s Restaurant
    • Dolphin Quest
    • Hildgunds
    • Pacific Dream Photography

    • Signature by The Kahala Hotel & Resort at the Royal Hawaiian Center

    • Any activity offered by outside companies even when booked by The Kahala Hotel & Resort Concierge

    Disclaimer: Resort Credit can be used for shops and restaurants except Arancino and the Signature Store at Royal Hawaiian Center.

    Payment

    All reservations require a credit card guarantee. Credit Cards accepted: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, Discover Card, JCB.

    Taxes

    The State of Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax is 10.25%. This, together with the 4.712% Hawaii State Excise tax and the 3.00% Oahu Transient Accommodationg tax, means that the total applied taxes for hotel accommodations will be 17.962%. 

    ADA Policy

    The Kahala Hotel & Resort is compliant with the American’s With Disabilities Act (ADA). The resort offers accessible rooms on request. Please ensure requests reach us by placing it in the comments section of the online reservation form, or by calling reservations directly at +1 (808) 369-9480 after the reservation has been made.

    Alcohol Policy

    Accommodations with access to mini bar alcohol will only be granted to those guests with a valid ID confirming 21 years of age or older. Any guest who does not meet the minimum legal drinking age of 21 will be denied any room service that includes alcohol.

    Smoking Policy

    The Kahala Hotel & Resort is a 100% non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the rooms or suites, including lanais (balconies). Should it be determined that smoking has taken place in a room or suites, a cleaning fee will be charged and placed on the guest folio before or after check-out. The Kahala Hotel & Resort has posted signs for designated outdoor smoking areas, please ask our staff if you are not sure where to find the designated smoking areas. Smoking bans by the state of Hawaii took effect on January 1st, 2014 making it illegal to have a cigarette at all Honolulu beaches, parks, pools, and athletic facilities. Fines will be imposed on violators.

    Deposit & Cancellations

    Rooms & Suites

    For any new reservations from now until Dec 31, 2024, a one (1) night deposit is required at the time of booking. One (1) night room & tax will be charged for cancellations and no-shows received within 7 days of scheduled arrival. Holiday Deposit and Cancellation policy will apply from December Holiday stay period.

    Signature Suites

    Two-night room and tax deposit due at time of reservation and refundable if cancellation occurs 30 days prior to arrival date. Full non-refundable prepayment required 30 days prior to arrival. For reservation made within 30 days of arrival, full non-refundable pre-payment required.

    For individual reservation of 10 nights or more, deposit of 20% of the total stay required at time of booking. Other rates and restrictions apply for Advance Purchase rate plans and the December Holiday stay period.

    Day 1: Fun In The Sun

    • Soak up the warm Hawaiian sunshine at our outdoor pool and hot tub. Rent a cabana for the day so you can lounge peacefully while the kids make a splash. With pool toys available for purchase, they’ll never run out of things to do! When you get hungry, there’s no need to go far. Enjoy a light meal at our poolside restaurant, Seaside Grill.

    • After a quick lunch at Plumeria Beach House, hop on our complimentary shuttle to the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki. From there, it’s a short walk to the Waikiki Aquarium or Honolulu Zoo where your family can spend the afternoon marveling at the creatures of the deep or meeting friendly beasts from around the world.

    • Wake up bright and early to go snorkeling at the legendary Hanauma Bay. Please note that reservations must be made in advance to enter the park.
    • Return home to spend a golden afternoon on the secluded beach in front of our hotel, where the gentle waves are safe for all ages. For your convenience, we offer beach gear including snorkels and fins, bodyboards, kayaks and paddle boards.
