Kahala Connection

Health & Wellness Resort in Oahu, Hawaii - Pt. 1

08/18/2016

A visit to the Hawaiian Islands rejuvenates and restores by its very nature: The wash of a sea breeze through the coconut palms, the roar of a jungle waterfall, the sight of a green sea turtle gliding over a near shore reef, the dance of a beach fire before a Pacific sunset—this archipelago is infused with serene spirit. Guests have been seeking serenity (not to mention fun & adventure) at the Kahala Hotel & Resort for decades, and these days our health-and-wellness offerings are more extensive than ever.

Whether it’s some well-earned spa pampering or the fresh air of a mountain ramble, taking care of mind, body, and spirit is deliciously easy at the Kahala. We’ll spend a couple of blogposts reviewing some of your options!

The Kahala Spa

Take it from us: You deserve some quality time at the Kahala Spa. As if our location, a stone’s throw from Waikiki Beach, weren’t magical enough, our onsite spa and wellness services crank things up—or, rather, slow things down—to a divine level.

From Polynesian-inspired massages and Hawaiian sea-salt foot soaks to top-quality facials, manicures, and pedicures, our luxurious signature spa treatments render some bone-deep relaxation and restoration. But that’s not all you’ll find at the Kahala Spa. We also offer our exclusive “Moonlight Wellness Series,” a program dedicated to centering the mind, evaporating stress, and nurturing the spirit. The Moonlight Wellness Series—complimentary for guests of the Kahala Resort & Hotel and $20 for non-guests—takes place the last Tuesday of every month, and includes evening meditations and other guided group sessions.

You can also treat yourself to one of our special “Spa Celebrations” packages, a wonderful way to make a visit to the Kahala Hotel & Resort an all-around transformative idyll. Spa Celebrations includes a pair of hour-long Kahala Spa treatments—the Swedish Massage and/or the Organic Facial—as well as $100 in resort credit for every three nights of your stay, daily breakfast at the Plumeria Beach House for two, & a one-of-a-kind Kahala canvas tote bag. What a deal!

Healthy—and Lipsmacking—Onsite Dining

A massage, a body soak, a round of oceanfront meditation: The Kahala Spa attends to those knots in your back and in your mind. But hey—what about that appetite of yours?

Fear not: Here at the Kahala Hotel & Resort, we also serve our guests with absolutely delicious onsite dining, overseen by Executive Chef Wayne Hirabayashi, showcasing fresh and healthy ingredients in creative and inspired preparations. We’ve got five different eateries on our gorgeous grounds, each offering its own distinct menu and ambience. From a cup of tea or a tropical cocktail at the Veranda to a seafood dish at the open-air Seaside Grill, from a lazy lunch on one of the Plumeria Beach House terraces to an Italian feast at Arancino, there’s a friendly seat, a mouthwatering plate, and a lovely libation awaiting you any time of day.

And then there’s Hoku’s, widely regarded as one of the premier restaurants in Hawaii. Drawing upon local Hawaiian styling’s while incorporating Asian, European, and Mediterranean techniques, Hoku’s serves multifaceted Island cuisine at its very best. Expertly prepared sushi and sashimi, the gustatory and artistic masterpiece of the Seafood Tower, the freshest salads, special macrobiotic offerings, heavenly desserts—Hoku’s is an experience unto itself, and a beautiful epicurean expression of the Kahala commitment to the well-being and happiness of our guests.

In our next health-and-wellness blogpost, we’ll detail some of the outdoor activities available out of our resort: some memorable adventures on and off the grounds!
