A stay at The Kalaha always exceeds expectations, with guests continuing to return year after year. These visitor testimonials show how the Kahala never fails to leave a glowing impression.

“One of a Kind” experience that I enjoyed at the Kahala Resort...

After expressing myself on your survey and Trip Advisor, I felt that there was more detail I had to report regarding the “one of a kind” experience that I enjoyed at the Kahala Resort. My reasons for coming to the Kahala was for my nephew’s wedding and to take an overdue vacation. Working in the customer experience area myself, I like to think that I am especially sensitive to both great behavior and not so great behavior when I am purchasing goods and/or services. The 7 days at Kahala provided me with incredibly great service behavior by the wonderful associate and management team.

May I offer to you some impressive details… It all started with Lorna in Reservations. She was friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel like I was already there, telling me about all of the amenities that Kahala had to offer. Upon my arrival, she came out of the office to greet me and give me a welcome hug. That was my first in what was to be a series of “wows”. When I checked in at the desk, a smiling Linda greeted me with a beautiful lei and wet towel. I didn’t expect that. Evangelina and Helen greeted me every morning (by name) and asked me if everything was to my liking regarding the cleanliness and upkeep of my room. The chocolate, water, slippers by my bed and genuinely happy disposition was a great way for me to start each day. More “wows!!!”. When I went down to breakfast every day, the incredible service experiences continued. CeCe and Xi, two of the hostesses welcomed me each day and made sure that I had a table that was to my liking and Lynne, Eric and Joy (appropriately named) served my breakfast efficiently. They were as friendly and cordial beyond my expectations and conversed with me as if I was the only person in the crowded Plumeria. As I made my way to the beach each day, the crew at the towel counter cheerfully greeted me, walked me to the chair of my choice and set me up for my day of relaxation. Peter, who I believe had the job of training guests on the surf boards, made sure that he checked with me every day to see if I needed anything. The last day he told me that I had an infectious smile and that when he saw me smile he wanted to smile. I told him that it was easy to smile when I was getting treated by the wonderful staff at Kahala. Jennifer cheerfully recommended refreshing cocktails and made sure that she checked on me without being a nuisance. Steve and Greg tended the bar at Plumeria and when I asked for a pina colada, they told me that they would make it different for me (using dark rum) because it would taste better…and it did! One evening, I sat and listened to the piano player and Beverly and Jon greeted me and conversed extensively about how my experience at Kahala was progressing. The waitress (forget her name but she was from Medford NJ) served me a perfect martini and when I was leaving to enjoy a cigar at the beach, gave me a glass of water to take with me. I did not ask for that. When I decided to do some shopping, Chanel was wonderful and when I mentioned that I might have an interest in playing golf, without my asking she made a phone call and then told me everything that I would have to do in order to play. Crystal in the Kahala Boutique was also friendly, helpful, knew about the products and made me smile…again exceeding my expectations.

I really wanted to convey to you what a wonderful experience I had because of your delightful staff of associates. The people I mentioned provided outstanding service and I have to believe that everyone else behaves in the same manner. There is nothing that I could offer to you in terms of improving my experience. It was PERFECT!! My hope is to come back to the Kahala and I wish the entire staff only the best. Retailers and resorts who provide goods and services could learn a great deal from the way you conduct your business.

Thank you for giving me a truly memorable experience.

Always a treat, amazing everything

After countless trips to Hawaii, I still feel that The Kahala is the best place to be. In this recent trip, I arrived from an international flight so it was great not have to use the inter-island terminal. The resort is a very brisk 15-20 min away from the airport, but it is in such an excluded area. It is a short and scenic drive to Waikiki and downtown Honolulu, but also very close to Hanauma Bay and Hawaii Kai. The service is impeccable and they make you feel so welcome and everything is truly a can-do attitude. The front office manager provides a special touch by remembering your visits.

We don't want to leave

This beautiful hotel sits just east of Diamond Head. It's location makes its beach nicely secluded, even though it is not far from Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. Our room is perfect, quiet and comfortable, and is directly above the dolphin pool. Watching the dolphins from our balcony was a treat, whether they were performing, swimming with guests, or just relaxing in their pool. Onsite restaurants and lounges are delightful. Service here is impeccable.

Everything from the valets to the rooms were wonderful! The outstanding breakfast started out our day. The Dolphin Quest was great. I only wish We were there right at this moment. We hope to be back very soon!

Impeccable service, 5 plus stars!”

We Stayed here last week for 5 nights. I must say the service/employees go out of their way to make sure your stay is as pleasant as it can be. The location is great, away from the hustle of the big city, but central enough to visit any location on the island in a short time. The beach and pool are perfect. There are so many serene and peaceful places to hang out and enjoy this paradise on the property. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day. An amazing view accompanies each breakfast. We had dinner at Hoku's (I wrote a separate review) which was the best. The service there was better than many NYC restaurants and the food was just outstanding. Being called by our names at the restaurant was the perfect touch, and the manager will make sure you are taken care of. He was very personable. Little extras like the nightly turndown service, chocolates, bottled water, and the overall friendliness of the staff makes you feel very special, no matter what part of the hotel you are staring in. I can go on, but don't believe any negative reviews. We did have an issue upon check in, but it was rectified beyond our dreams and we thank Flora for that. They will go out of their way to make sure your stay is beyond perfect. Just ask them or tell them and they will react in the right way. If there can be such a rating as 6 stars, I think The Kahala should be the first to get it! If you are visiting Oahu, do yourself a favor and go straight to The Kahala. You will not be disappointed. Trust me,

THE Place to stay

This is what other hotels strive to be. It's outside of Waikiki which we liked. There is a shuttle to take you in for shopping etc. The staff is so gracious, and skilled. Our room was 1205, overlooking the dolphin lagoon. Very spacious, great bathroom (paint needed touching up), large TV that swung out for viewing. This is my favorite hotel to date.

Heavenly in Honolulu”

The Kahala Hotel and Resort is not in downtown Honolulu in the Waikiki area and that is but one of its great virtues for those who want to spend time away from high rises and the business of Waikiki's version of Rodeo Drive and prefer to be in more of a paradise feeling area. It seems that everyone we met who works at the Kahala has been there for more than 15 years and that, alone, says a lot. Everyone treated us with great care and warmth. The room was beautifully appointed, the bed very comfortable, the view from the balcony lovely, the breakfast buffet excellent. Eating breakfast in a relaxed environment thirty feet from the beach, is heavenly. Every request we made, every question we asked, was met with immediate positive, accurate responses. We were never hurried. One of the concierge staff, Gloria Kennedy, was especially helpful above and beyond the call of duty. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish and we will be happy to return there. Room Tip: Ocean views are great. Posted on TripAdvisor.com, Stayed September 2015, traveled as a couple

“A most wonderful place to stay!”

We were warmly greeted by genuinely friendly staff carrying leis who welcomed us into an exceptionally well-maintained and very beautiful property. Our room was very spacious, with lovely furnishings and linens, two separate sink areas in a luxurious bathroom and stunning golf course views. From the ocean-side restaurants, the wonderful food, the relaxed atmosphere, excellent all-around service, state-of-the-art gym, yoga and fascia classes and lessons on the beach and lovely pool and beach areas -- we couldn't have been happier. The Kahala is a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

“Peace, comfort and luxury!”

Stayed only for 2 nights. Decided we wanted to end our 18-day holiday with some beach time and comfort. The Kahala did not disappoint. It far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked-in until we left the hotel, the hotel staff were consistently very helpful, courteous and welcoming (special mention to James at the reception who tried to accommodate our needs as we have been on the road for two weeks). Overall, very attentive staff. The rooms were luxurious and spacious. I love the double vanities and two separate wardrobe closets!!! The pool and beach did not feel overcrowded and noisy as there were enough provisions for the guests. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants (Hoku's and Arancino) at the hotel. Great food and excellent service. Probably the best in the island! Breakfast was pleasantly relaxing with a beautiful view of the beach. Unlike other big resorts we've stayed at, were you had to endure the long queues, uncontrolled children, and just too much activity going on. The best thing we loved about this hotel is its quiet residential location. Far away from the crowded beaches of Waikiki. The only disappointment we've had is not to be able to stay here a lot longer. The good part, we've found our hotel in Oahu! Will most definitely stay at The Kahala again!

“First Class Hotel on Oahu”

Really good hotel and resort, friendly staff and good service, kids friendly, there are sea turtles and dolphins in the resort which are open for all guests. However, I don't like the Kahala Beach as much as Waikiki Beach, it is too quite, this hotel may not be your first choice if you enjoy city life. Room Tip: Higher floors have better views.
