Ms. Roseann Grippo was appointed General Manager of The Kahala Hotel & Resort in November 2011. Grippo had previously served on The Kahala’s executive team as Resident Manager.
A long-time veteran of the Hawaii hotel industry, Ms. Grippo worked with Starwood Hotels and Resorts for nearly a decade before joining The Kahala Hotel & Resort. Her positions included manager of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Starwood’s flagship property in Hawaii and area director of Food and Beverage for Starwood Hotels and Resort in Hawaii and French Polynesia. She also served as Regional Director of Procurement NAD Southeast and Caribbean; Regional Director of Food and Beverage Operations Central Region; and Assistant Food and Beverage Director of New Builds and Acquisitions and Food and Beverage Operations.
Prior to her Starwood tenure which began in 2001, she was Executive Assistant Operations Manager with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
Ms. Grippo is the recipient of many coveted industry and community awards including Starwood’s Catering and Convention Team of the Year and the Reynard Humanitarian Award, both awarded in 2010. She was also named Outstanding Food and Beverage Director of the Year by the Hawaiian Hospitality Lodging and Food Service in 2010. In 2005, she was Starwood’s Trainer of the Year and received nominations for the 2009 and 2010 Na Poe Pa’ahana’a Food and Beverage Manager of the Year Award.
A member of Chaine Des Rotisseurs, Société Mondiale du Vin, and Les Dames d’Escoffier, Ms. Grippo has been active in the local community serving as the Vice Chair of the Governor’s Ball for the Hawaii Chapter of the March of Dimes. She is also a board member for Grow Hawaii and Project Think, both programs that benefit the growth of Hawaii’s children.
Ms. Grippo loves to cook and is studying the art of wine making. She is also certified in Biodynamic farming. She enjoys a passion for collecting fine wines for her own private reserves. She also volunteers her time to programs focused on at-risk youth and underprivileged children.
