HONOLULU—The award-winning Arancino at The Kahala, known for its classic, yet innovative and modern Italian cuisine, is celebrating one year since opening at The Kahala Hotel & Resort, and is debuting new creations that will tantalize its guests’ senses of sight, taste and smell.
Arancino at The Kahala’s a la carte menu is now available for dinner offering the restaurant’s popular brick oven pizzas such as Pizza Bismarck, featuring mortadella, mushrooms, poached egg, mozzarella, parmigiano and tomato sauce.
Under the direction of Executive Chef Daisuke Hamamoto, guests can discover an extraordinary epicurean experience that includes new creations such as:
- Tagliatelle ai Frutti di Mare: featuring tiger shrimp, scallops, and fresh house-made tagliatelle pasta tossed in a lemon garlic white wine truffle oil
- Casarecce Ragu di Polpo: octopus and casarecce pasta with spicy garlic tomato sauce
- Tagliatelle con Orechiette di Mare, Kona abalone, wood mushroom, and fresh house-made tagliatelle tossed in an abalone bouillon garlic cream sauce
- Spaghetti alla Carbonara: Chef Hamamoto’s deconstructed version of the classic Italian dish with a poached egg, crispy pancetta and truffle butter
- Grigliata di Mare: a secondi symphony of frutti di mare (seafood) such as grilled lobster, scallop, shrimp calamari and fish of the day
- Bistecca alla Lavanda: 5oz. lavender-infused sous vide A5 Miyazaki Premium Wagyu Beef served with roasted petite potatoes and onion petals
In celebration of its one-year anniversary, Arancino at the Kahala is proud to announce that it will offer the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Beef, a premium delicacy that is ranked the highest quality of beef in Japan and a very rare find in Hawaii, starting Tuesday June 24th. The Miyazaki Wagyu originates from the Miyazaki Prefecture of Japan, which is known for producing the best beef in the world. This delicacy, which has been the winner of the Prime Minister’s Award in Japan for the past 10 years for its outstanding quality, is prepared sous vide style at Arancino at The Kahala.
The new menu still includes the restaurant’s signature dishes, which all marked the debut of Arancino at The Kahala’s entrance into Hawaii’s upscale dining scene last year, such as Crostacei di Mare, featuring abalone and ama ebi lightly drizzled with herb oil; and Chitarra alla Pescatora, featuring lobster, clams, shrimp, scallops and calamari with garlic tomato sauce over house-made squid ink Chitarra pasta.
An extensive wine list designed by Shinya Tasaki, winner of the World’s Best Sommelier Award in 1995, features 100 different premium wines from Italy and Pacific Rim countries around Hawaii. Expert servers at Arancino at The Kahala are on staff to provide intuitive recommendations for perfect wine pairings to accent the delicate flavors of land and sea.
A new chef’s tasting menu featuring five courses is also available for $85 or with wine pairings for $110.
Arancino at The Kahala will be open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, and 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dinner. Reservations are recommended by calling (808) 380-4400 or by visiting www.arancino.com.
