Our pool is a popular place to soak up the sun. You'll find everything you need to enjoy the Hawaiian sun at the Pool Desk, from sunscreen and protective eye wear, to hats. We also have a full range of magazines for your entertainment. It's also the place to find out about the variety of water sports available. Kahala logo items such as T shirts, bags and visors are also available.

Surf Lessons
Standing up on a surfboard has never been so easy! There will be a brief instructional demonstration and practice on the beach prior to heading out to the surf zone. At The Kahala Hotel & Resort, we utilize the outrigger canoe to access the surf. We provide each participant with reef walkers, a rash guard, a leash, and a surfboard. Our surf instructor will imbue you with the confidence, motivation, and knowledge needed to stand up on your first surfing experience.  $100 per person

Stand Up Paddling (SUP)
Stand up paddling is a new sport to hit the islands and has grown in popularity in the last several years. It is a great core work out and requires minimal skill. Allow your guide to teach you the basic skills to master this balancing act.  Stand-Up Surfboard Rental available at $30 per hour.

Private Stand-up Lesson
The private stand up lesson comes from a very experienced surfer, lifeguard and stand-up paddler. Learn numerous techniques on how to turn the stand up paddle board. Learn how to hold the paddle and paddle both forward and backwards. Learn how to avoid hazardous areas and potential accidents. The lesson will increase your confidence and in no time you will be on your own. The instructor will stay with you for an entire hour. $75 one hour Private Stand-Up Lesson

Canoe Surfing Tour
Some say the four person outrigger canoe surfing is life changing. For thirty minutes you will be catching waves in the front of the Kahala Hotel on a four person outrigger canoe.  Try it and you won’t be disappointed. $75 per person

Canoe Tour and Keiki Canoe Tour
Enjoy a 45 minute guided paddle on a four person outrigger canoe. Learn the history of the hotel, the Waialae Golf Course, the reef and much more. Or just sit back and enjoy the breath taking view of the Ko’olau Mountain range, Koko Head, Kokolepelepe (Koko Crater), and Le’ahi (Diamond Head). Everyone is welcome! $35 per adult or $25 per child (12 and under)

Canoe Snorkel Tour
All equipment provided. If you’re going to snorkel, why not explore different areas of the reef utilizing a four person outrigger canoe. On calm days you’ll have the opportunity to go beyond the reef and swim with turtles. You’ll never know what to expect. $65 per person

Canoe Fishing Tour

You will have the opportunity to catch fish utilizing the four person outrigger canoe and spinner rods.  On the tour you never know what you will catch. We have caught Oio (Bone Fish), Papio (Trevally), Weke (Goat Fish), and numerous other fish. Why not make this the highlight of your travels? Who knows when you’ll have another opportunity to fish from a four person outrigger canoe. $150 for 2 people. Extra riders / fishers are $50 each.

Spear Fishing

Learn the basics of spear fishing. Utilizing a three pronged Hawaiian spear, you will have the opportunity to catch your next meal. The class and adventures is one hour and thirty minutes in duration, and will cover everything you need to know about spear fishing. $150 per person

Fly Fishing
Let your fly fishing guide lead you to the action. Bonefish, also known as Oio in Hawaiian, thrive in the sandy, shallow waters off The Kahala Hotel & Resort. You can often see their tails waving in the air during low tides as they feed on mantis shrimp, crabs, sand turtles, and squid. Our guide will help you "match the hatch" to land your first Hawaiian bonefish. $150 per person
